My local Ford dealership is making me do double takes when I drive by as of late. Last week he had all of his new Ford pickups out on the front row facing the highway, for all of us passerbyers to see and admire. ...
One day there was a 05 Chevy full size PU sitting in that row with the new Fords. Today, there is a newer Toyota Tundra sitting beside the new F350' s out on the front row. I see a lot of brand loyalty on this forum. What do you guys think about this dealer mixing up his herd ?
well our local chevy dealer just bought out our local ford dealer and they both have mixed lots bc they are sperate businesses i guess. both dealers have the other brand on the lot.
Good replies guys, but to me it still doesnt seem right. Fifty feet up over these new Ford trucks is the HUGE blue oval sign. The lot is huge, like 10 acres. There is plenty of room to put the "preowned" or trade ins on the next row back. If I am in the market for a new Ford, I look for the big blue oval sign on the road frontage. I dont expect to see used chevies and toyotas in the front row with the Fords. ...
I do expect that if I go to "Triple F Motors" or " Bubbas Ole Ladies Church Car Lot" to see all the different brand names mixed on the front row. Guess I am wrong on this one, but I think a new Ford vehicle dealership should send out the signal they are brand loyal, at least on the front row. Personally , I see it as signs of economic struggle on the dealerships part, and probaly the way of the future. That being , dont lose the opportunity to miss a sale, because of not offering up the whole menu. jmo
