I have a 2001 F350 with the 7.3 and over the past couple weeks really been debating about lifting the truck. It has a Royal Sport Utility Bed on it and i like it but the only problem is it weighs a lot more than stock bed and because of the weight truck sitts level no lift at all. So i want to do a full 2.5 lift all the way around so i can run 35's. Talked to local shop and they said 35x10 is max tire which i am good with just dont know best way to lift the rear any suggestions? If you need to know what i am talking about Royal Sport....look at profile pict. thats the truck
The royal sport bed wont change the way you lift the truck. Here are your options:
Blocks: Factory F350 comes with a 4" block. Blocks are the easiest, and cheapest way to achieve a lift. You may stack rear blocks, however it is not advised. DO NOT PUT BLOCKS IN THE FRONT!
Shackles: This is your best option for the front, if you decide to use blocks in the rear. Easiest, and cheapest.
Springs: Mini spring packs (additional to factory springs), or spring lifts (complete sets of replacement springs) will give you a lift. They will ride better, allow for better function, and are the best option as far as lifts. Spring lifts or mini spring packs may be applied to both the front and back or just the front or rear, but best done all the way around. However they are generally the most expensive option.
