Question Edge Juice w/ Attitude Install Problems *First Post*

Hello All,
I've been reading posts for a long time and getting much great advice (mainly for my 2002 4.6L Eddie Bauer Explorer, but not for my new truck). I now have a problem that I cannot find an answer to. I just bought a used Edge Juice w/ Attitude tuner and I installed it tonight. Of course there was no installation manual with it and the installation manual PDF file on the Edge site is for the newer Juice, not the one I have.

My Truck: 2004 King Ranch CC w/ 6.0 almost stock except for K&N air intake and no cat on 4" exhaust.

Edge Juice w/ Attitude: The version I have says it's manufactured in 2005 and it is for the 2003-2007 6.0 Powerstroke. The ones on the Edge website show a box with a wire loom coming from it, and the connection from the loom plugs in under the dash. The one I have is not like that, it is the box, with two connections coming directly out of the box. Both connections are side-by-side and are both identical to the connection on the truck at the computer module.

I unplugged the middle wire bundle from the truck's computer module beside the driver's-side battery. There are two identical connections (plus one smaller one towards the front of the truck) on the truck's computer module. The middle wire bundle appears to be the one running to the engine (plus the other one's wire bundle wouldn't reach far enough from the computer module to plug it into the back of the Edge box anyway).

After making all the connections I started the truck and the display is giving me RPM readings, and an EGT reading that must just ne the outside temp since I haven't hooked up the EGT probe yet (I need to buy a tap this weekend). I also have read many places that the EGT probe does not have to be hooked up for the Edge to perform, even though I will be hooking it up as soon as possible anyway. When I go into the display and adjust the power setting to 2, 3, 4, etc. the number in the upper-right hand of the display still says "0" for stock settings. I swapped the connections on the back of the Edge box (left wire bundle to right connector and vice-Versa) and then the display would not give me nay readings, so I switched them back and for the same RPM and EGT readings as before, still with no "Power" level changes.

Does anyone have any experience with this version of the Edge Juice w/ Attitude? Better yet, does anyone have a manual for this version as a PDF they could share?

Thanks in advance,
Todd

Open the file for the "EJF2000WAM Discontinued Juice W/ Attitude" from the Edge site. That shows the older style box.

Welcome to FTE.

Thanks William, for both the welcome and the tip!

I just went out and tweaked the programming a bit and it ran like it should. The block was still cold so I didn't see much more for responsiveness, but I got it for fuel economy anyway... My #2 injector needs replaced soon so it needs to get warmed up before I get full power, then it runs like a champ.

You mind as well start putting money aside each week for a replacement trans when the juice takes the transmission out.

that programmer has proven to be kinda bad on the torque-shift tranny. i would advise getting a custom tune if you are wanting to run a tune itself.
