I mean, if prepared correctly, I'm sure undercoating would be fine....And here's the only way i know to do it:

I was talking to a couple old gutter service guys one day, and they decribed a similar issue....They'd put the gutters up, 6 months later, they're dripping/leaking.....

One guy said he started using a small propane torch to quickly pass the flame over the metal, drying the surface THOROUGHLY, then he'd simply make his seal......

Makes sense if ya think about it, so that's the only way I know to do the undercoating.....Simply use a small torch and just pass the flame over the surface, drying it as much as possible, then following immediately with the undercoating.....(Which is actually a better idea than just lettin it dry, because the heat will help cure/harden the coating, etc......

Just food for thought...

Hey appreciate the advice guys. i have a good start on lets saying beautifying the frame, did all I can until I lift the bed to replace shackles and box mounts. Unfortunately I have caused myself a brake fluid leak and loss of brakes. I started a thread on it if anyone thinks they may be able to help. As for the solution to this thread I will continue to work on this truck and fix it up the best I can and if something comes up that I like better and that is in better condition then my current one I will jump on it and sell my current one.

Thanks for the responses guys. Heres to hoping I can fix my brakes tonight or tomorrow and prevent myself from using my Cadillac to lug lacquer around come monday morning.

changing front fenders

I did try searching this forum aswell as google and for some reason I can't find the information I need to what seems like it should be a simple task. I'm looking to replace both front fenders on my 93 f150.

Anyone willing to offer some help?

Thanks!

About a 20-30 minute job....Each...

There's 2 bolts by the hood springs, 1 between the upper/lower hinges (PITA to get to), one under the fender on the outside (At the main bottom of the fender, behind the wheel).....2 that attach it to the radiator support...And 1 that connects the fendet to the lower stone guard (The metal piece that runs between the headlights, and under the grille.....and about 20 small screws....variously placed around the fender apron........

Keystone (Advance Auto) can get a new fender for ~$80....

I actually picked up both in mint condition off an old haul for 50. Have you heard of lmc trucks? If so what do you think of them. Sounds easy enough to change the fender. Maybe I'll do that tonight. Probably make dealin with my brake issue easier anyway.
