Getting ready to replace glow plugs. Is Motorcraft the best choice or are there some better ones being produced. Truck is a hard starter in cool weather and even worse in cold. Replaced GPR last winter. Going to have valve covers off torquing injectors, previous owner put in a set and did not torque. Decided it would be a good time to replace glow plugs since I have no idea of the brand or how long they have been in there. What are the best you have run across?
Motorcrafts are the best choice, made in Germany by Beru. I had good luck with Bosch as well, but I wouldn't use anything but MC (first choice) or Bosch (if you're stranded somewhere and MC aren't available). Autolites and the like have a reputation of breaking off in the motor after they burn out very quickly.
Clay is always my first choice when he has what I need. And since MotorCraft seems to be the one most recommended I guess it's time to log on to Riffraff. Got a couple more things I need to order from him anyway.
