explorer stearing

Fixing things twice always gets faster,and angier. I replaced the rack and pinion in a 06 Explorer 2 times and it leaks again. 1st one leaked at the axle boot within a couple of days. I replaced it with the same Napa rebuilt part. This last one has gone 2 months and now leaks at the o ring where the stearing column connects to the rack. Would not flushing out all the old fluid be a posible cause and or changing the lines for new ones? Also, if I top off the fluid level it leaks out to a low level then stops. It has stayed at that level for 2 days now,while still driving. If anybody can help.........
