Question: According to federal safety standards, bumpers on automobiles must be able to with stand an impact at what speed, with out damaging lights or other safety equipment?
Much lower than I would have thought.
"...imposed requirements which prohibited damage to specified safety-related components such as headlamps and fuel systems in a series of perpendicular barrier impacts, at 5 mph for front and 2.5 mph for rear bumper systems."
Question: According to federal safety standards, bumpers on automobiles must be able to with stand an impact at what speed, with out damaging lights or other safety equipment?
1973/79 Passenger Cars: 10 MPH front, 5 MPH rear. Dunno how long this was in effect after 1979.
I do know that the bumper reinforcements, collapsible bumper isolators used on these cars were very heavy, the isolators could be sub'd for bar bells.
Question: What is the name for the blue box that houses the stars on the American flag?

"The union" is the correct answer. "The field" is defined as the background of a flag. The American flag does not have a field. A good example of a field is the Alaskan flag. The blue would be considered the field.
