Ever hit a Deer with a car?
Ever see a train hit one?
Don’t be squeamish.. Look below.
Question #1 Is my grandson OK?
Question #2 Where is he. I think I’m going to strangle him.
The kid came out without a scratch but he wasn’t so sure that’d be the situation after his granddad sees this ......................
Footnote: Although the paramedics discovered no one was injured when they arrived on the scene, they did have to caution people that got near the tractor motor laying on the ground as it was still running.
I'd buy the engine still running. Deeres have the fuel tank in front of the motor so that stayed with, and it would be hard to shut off because the fuel shut-off is on the right side.
sure glad he's ok, but if I werent in a coma from something like that I'm sure dad would have put me down for a nap. . . . .
I agree on the point of the fuel tank staying with it etc, but if it was an electronic shutoff it'd obviously have shut off since the battery was ejected from the tractor and the wiring from the cab was ripped in two which kills the theory of "but the alternator kept it powered up". And if it uses a cable operated fuel shut off to the injection pump, that also would have been ripped in two to separate it from the cab - it doesn't take much pull on that line to stretch it and pull the fuel shut off. Even if the sheath just fell out of it's clamp, it'd still have to just fall off the injection pump. Not buying that. Not to mention the likely possibility for mechanical stoppage when it snapped in two from the something binding, or the kid going "OH CRAP" and jamming on the brakes and choking it off on the tracks before it even got hit in the first place.
Then throw in the fact that the part that was hit in front (by the engine) is facing the ground, so we can't even see if the locomotive split the engine block open or not, ruptured the fuel tank, damaged the IP...
Is it possible - sure. But not very likely in my opinion. Before I'd buy that the engine was still running I'd have to see it documented in a police report heh.
we had this happen where i live a couple years ago..... but this was a new huge tractor and the kid was killed.... a truck crossed the tracks fine and he was texting i do believe didn't look both ways and bam killed em dead.... always look before crossing tracks signals or not in my opinion i always slow down to the point i could stop
for all that they can pull it is amazing how weakly built a tractor is at the point where that one broke, as most are nothing more than the transmission housing at that place.

You've got to admit that they're not designed to be hit by a train. The assumption was made that if you're smart enough to drive it, you should be smart enough to stay out of harms way!
