i need help please!!

ok so like a morron i ran my truck out of fuel today..... on the way to the gas station. so i got two gallons in it and it cranked. it ran like crap of corse. i figured it would for a min. or so but i have driven it for about 5 miles now and it is still running bad. i put more fuel in it and when i cranked it at the station it ran fine until i pulled around the corner then bad again. i have done a buzz test and every thing sounds good. i did a contribution test and it put a code for 2,4,6,&8 cyl low contribution. i dont know where to look next. i am a mechanic by trade but i am NO diesel mechanic. please help.

also forgot to add i have already tried the idm and checking the harnesess with no luck. but i can unplug the v/c harness on the bank 2 side and it does not change the way it runs.(shocker huh). but when i crank it for the first half of a second it revs fine then tries to die and runs like hammered $#!+.

I would change the filter and clean the screen inside the fuel bowl its at 3 o'clock about a inch down you'll see a little hole use a Q-Tip with the cotton cut off. It could tak a
Little more driving to get any air out

the rear tank has had a problem for a while. i think that the pick up is clogged or something. and there is a differance in the way it runs even now between front and rear tank. i tried to clean the screen with no change either. im going to try and check the wires from the idm. i think it has to be a wire problem being since the whole 2nd bank is killed.

yeah clean the screen on the fuel pressure regulator. have you checked the fuel pressure on the fpr? you can use a tire pressure gauge.
or could be a bad mechanical fuel pump.

ok i figured out that it is deffinately isolated to the left bank. all the wires are good. does any one know what the voltage sould be at idle going to the injectors? also the #6 and 8 injectors ohmed around 6.5 on the outside uvch. so i think im going to start with the harnesses and a cps maybe. they are both origional to my knowledge, and im at 301,600 mi.

ok so i fund that the uvch being old as father time himself does not does not make those things withstand the oil and high amperage of the glowplugs. so they shorted out and melted the connectors under the vc. when this happens the idm shuts down THE WHOLE BANK to save one injector since they all have a common supply wire. but $90 later and it runs good again.
