Steering column...got a few questions
The steering column in my 89 F-250 is messed up. I had to take the lower cover off, and use a pair of pliers to push the rod down to get it to start.
i've replaced the key portion twice in the past, the last time due to the section holding the gear breaking off.
Is it possible to fix this, or do I need to pull the column and replace it?
How difficult is it to replace a column?
It has tilt steering, and a manual tranny.

sounds like the actuator is broke. the part itself costs less than $20, but takes about 4 hours to put in.
if you can find a good 5 speed column in a yard for around $50, i would say swap the column, and then rebuild yours as time lets you.
