For shocks RS9000 or custom valves Bilsteins. I have the Bilsteins and really like them.
For a lift it sounds like you are on track with your budget. Some of the lifts that say 4" end up being 6" on the Ex as it is 2" lower than a F250 to start with. If you lift 6" the 33's will look to small. Most aftermarket spring lifts ride extremely stiff. Stiffer than I or especially DW would tolerate.
We did a V/mod B spring upgrade with 4.5" spring hangers/6" blocks and the ride is amazing both unloaded or loaded towing at maximum capacity. For the lift we went with ICON components and have been extremely satisfied. If you go 6" you may get driveline vibrations. I think you will also need to extend the sway bar end links.
Was thinking about the v/b mod today. I yanked the running boards off it today and we both love the look but now she worried about getting in and out without the step. We also have a 3 year old and are trying for #2 so I need to be realistic with the height. Now I'm thinking v/b code springs (used????) and then maybe a leveling kit? Where is a good place to get new v/b code springs if used isn't an option? I'm hoping used cause it would fee up $$ for audio/video stuff inside. Any problems running 315/75 on a 10" rim with the v/b option or am I limited to 33" tires?
You can get them from Autozone WITH a lifetime warranty. They come in stock and the 5100 series lifted applications. I have 5100s all around and love them....
Thanks I'll look into that.
Ok updates for today:
1. Pulled the front rotors to be turned. Néed to grease and lube up everything and the DS was missing half the spring kit!
2. While removing the rotor found out both lower ball joints are bad. FUN FUN
3. Fixed all 4 door power locks using the tinfoil mod.
4. Found out during Door lock fix DS rear door is not original.
5. Removed running boards. Now that's what I'm talking about.
6. Wife started scrubbing the truck from rear forward. She got as far as the second row and called it a day. But boy what a difference.
Our two year olds climb in ours just fine with the running boards. The boards are not the best looking but very practical. Ours is up 8" higher than stock. Here is the picture showing the technique.
Ok been busy surfing craigslist and working on the ex. Wife found a used set of 305/75 r16 on stock wheels for sale and ended up buying a stock set of f250 springs off the guy as well. Installed the springs and still have the tracking problem in the rear. Now I'm thinking bent axle. Two reasons for this. 1: evidence of accident on DS rear door.
2: when bolting the rear axle to the springs we bolted in the DS
first then ps. Everything went fine except the spring perch on the ps did not line up with the spring. Left to right was fine and so was front to back. It was just angled. Best way to describe it would be to say the axle was twisted slightly. With the front of the perch touching the back was about 1/2" away from the spring.
Anyone have any input on this. What kind of cost am I looking at for a used rear end? Can axles be repaired?

axles are tough mothers...especially a D60
Look more at the leaf perches. see if they are aligned properly and straight. make sure to check the frame mounts and the axle mounts
use the drivers side as a reference and compare measurements
if your axle was damaged, you would be looking at rear gear damage and/or seal damage at the axletubes. They aren't subtle about letting you know there is a problem
it does look off. one of the leaf perchs seems to be closer to the frame than it should be.
if it is, that at least is an easy fix. torch off the rivets, junkyard pick a new one, bolt it into place using Grade 8 hardware with red locktite
you mention the right rear door has been replaced...You could probably put money down that it was nailed and the axle took the hit with surrounding damage to the door. The tire blowing up story might be just that...a story the old old PO told your buddy

Maybe you could find out for sure if it was in a wreck using the link from the "Free AutoCheck report!". Might explain a few things...
Been busy working on the Ex. Ordered and installed new rims and tires. Installed new headlights with LED running lights. Installed oem style fog lights. That was fun cause 2000 didn't come with them. Installed HID in the headlights. Swapped windshield wipers for larger ones. Reinstalled the running boards after painting the black. Finished scrubbing the interior And reinstalled everything. Order two new keys but need to program them. Tried finding the door code under the dash but no luck. Pounded out a small dent in the front bumper. Tried swapping the parking brake backing plate from the old axle onto the new cause the DS on the new is rusted. Waiting on new backing plate cause they are different.
Anybody done an LED swap for the dash lights? Order the ones for the overhead and running boards but want the dash too.
Ordered SEM classic coat to redo my leather but got the wrong color. Doh
I'll take some pics tomorrow before I go to work. Got dark before I thought about taking some n
Sounds like you have been busy getting her dialed in.
From what I've read on here you will not find your door code anywhere on a 2000 so you will have to hit the dealer up for it or do the de Bruijn sequence to figure it out.
