That is without a doubt one of the cleanest panels I've ever seen. You did very well!
The **** on the dash above the gauges is for the windshield wipers. And if you need a different piece to repair your dash, let me know. That one looks like it was cut out with a torch, and it may be hard to put back. What a shame.
Is the Matchbox car a MGA or an Austin Healey? It may be worth your price of admission, right there. ;-)
No, the panels didn't come with side windows. Only the Rangers, which were special order Marmon-Herrington 4X4s came with side windows but they had two sets of windows on each side and were inset without the rubber gaskets. The window in the side of your panel body look to set in evenly and don't really look that bad. I'd keep them, way too much work to try to weld patch panels in, IMO.
Nice looking Panel body. I'd keep the windows too. If those doors are solid and relatively straight, you can triple your money easily if you ever part out the Panel.
You certainly lucked out with that panel body, any one I've ever come across has been a rust bucket. You shouldn't have too much problems finding the rest of the sheet metal and a decent frame. Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Looking forward to your build process.
That body is the exact thing i need for my project. I am looking for one to mate to the back of the cab of an F6 to make a 1949 Excursion, so I dont need the front clip, frame, ect. Where are you located? If you happen to ever loose interest in the project or find it to be too large of an undertaking I would be very interested!
He's in Alberta, Canada. You can find a similar project body in the states. Just start scouring the local junk yards, Craigslist and the internet. I've picked up a few Panel trucks in the past for less than $1k. I picked up one a few years ago for $200. Granted the body was rusted out in some spots, I'm sure that you could find a way to fix it.
