I love the truck and dont want to get rid of it but i need to get a crew cab truck. So my ? is about cab swaps. What will swap over?
1997-2003 Crew cab and 4 1/2' bed?
1997-2003 ext cab and 6' bed?
I'm pretty sure they will. I want to say the chassis are all the same. The body mounts themselves that are welded to the frame may not however. If you can weld you could possibly fab up any needed brackets with angle iron after you mount the front. I know from the front bumper back to behind the doors it WILL fit. Now the two rearmost mounts I do not know but I know it would be quite easy to fab those two up with just plate and angle stock.
I work at a local ford dealer in central ky. since having recall 11S21 come out and racking up all these trucks i've noticed that the frames between the Super Cabs to the Reg. Cab, is longer. the "drop down" section of the frame that runs under the kick pannel it the part that I'm talking about. I'll double check tomorrow at work but I'm very sure about this. Hope everything will work out.
