Cab a bed swap

i haven't been on this part of the forum lately I recently have purchased a sick-oh. Now the main reason for the purchase was because it was in my price range and it was a crew cab which is what I need since my family is getting bigger and my extended cab is getting smaller for my family. No the reason that I started this thread is I miss my 7.3 and have come across a crew cab cab that is stripped completely and was wondering if anyone has seen, heard or have done themselves any kind of conversion like this? I would be going from an extended cabling bed a wheel base of 155" to a crew cab short bed where the wheel base is 152". Which is three inches shorter then what I have now. Am I going to run into to big of problems since my frame is three inches longer? My frame is in really good shape only has surface rust on it and my bed is Swiss cheese from rust and my cab corners and rockets are done for. So if I can do this cab swap it will help with pretty much all my problems.!. Any kind of in put would be appreciated and thank you

if you can fabricate, it will be easy enough. you will have modify cab and body mounts, and some electrical.
as for the longer frame, i would leave a space between the cab and bed and then fill it with something. .

Fabricating isn't to big of a deal honestly for the body mounts and what not. My concern I guess you could say is do you think I'll have to channel the cab at all since it is longer then the one I currently have now because of how the frame curves and bends up for the bed? Or am I not going to have an issue with that at all.

if i remember correctly the frame is flat until it gets to the area of the rear axle.
so you should not have any interference with rear cab mounts.

Ok now would it be more beneficial to go the route I am thinking about with a stripped cab and go from there or fine a good rolling frame and cab? Or possibly find a gasser that has a blown motor and swap my 7.3 and all that is needed into it and make it a diesel
