it just came back as a faint chirp.. grr.. i'd take it to a mechanic if I thought they would be able to figure it out

 

Well, I have read as much as possible here since the whine started a couple of days ago. Mine sounds like a growl/metallic whining sound. It started out as a chirp every once in a while upon start up and then two days ago after a 40 mile freeway trip it turned into a constant growl/whine. Did anyone solve their noise issue? Thanks in advance.

 

6 months ago I changed the tensioner pulley and it stopped the sound the exact same as in the Youtube video but now its back the posts that say replace the entire tension assembly sound like the best plan I also had a Ford mechanic here local tell me the same thing
