Clock had struck 12 here in Arizona. and 10 years and some off hours from now the day the world stopped turning had hit. We will never forget those who lost there lives in the tragic turn of events. and on this thread is wear we commemorate those lost in the Twin towers. i put together a little somethin to remember those lost and for support to those who are fighting.
I have this posted in another thread, but I'll post it here too.
9/11 is especially important to me, so excuse my rant.
I do not think that 9/11 will become a holiday. 9/11 is my generation's Pearl Harbor, and December 7th is not a holiday. I dont want 9/11 to become a holiday only because that would imply that Pearl Harbor was less significant, and both were tragic attacks on our country.
Here is my request for everyone. Don't spend September 11th being angry at anyone for the terrible acts they committed. Instead remember the 1000's of innocent people killed, who were trapped alive in what we can only assume was a living hell. And the 343 Fire/EMS and 60 Police Officers who lost their lives because they ran into a war zone to save as many lives as they could. And the other 100's of responders who have since died, been hospitalized, or acquired a disease from the contamination at ground zero. All in all 1000's of people died for one reason. Hate. Lets not perpetuate that hate on this day, but instead remember their lives positively, and look back to how the United States was on September 11th, 2001. I dont think a body of people has ever been more united as one than our country was on that day.
well said, say what ever falls out. here is were to do it. i cant say much on it other then the fact just the tought of being there frightens the livin hell outta me. i was only 8 when it happened. i dont remember where or what i was doing aside from the fact my mom told me the devil has hit the united states.

I dont remember how old I was, but I was in 4th grade. I came home from school early because I had hurt my ankle. I limped in the the house through the garage door and saw my older sister sitting on the couch with her face in her hands crying as the news played in front of her.
I did not understand what it meant for many years. I understood it was bad but I didnt know why.
that was exactly my mind set. it took many years of explaining for me to understand how devistating it was. how it was more the fact that so many people died more then the building and its importance.
9/11 is one of the reasons I chose to enter my profession.
It is against human nature to reach out to someone else for help, but there comes a point where you need that help and you pick up the phone and dial 911 and put your full faith in a complete stranger to help you on the worst day of your life. I decided I wanted to be the person people called upon to come save them, because then I have a chance at maybe making their day or their life a little bit better.
Back then I lived about 25 miles from Ground Zero. I can remember every minute of that day. From work, I could see the smoke and smell the burning debris. I will never forget it. I don't know what else to say about it.
