Yea, you all actually make me feel better about $198 for PA for my 350 after seeing what some of you are paying.... wonder what they are going to charge now that I switched to a dually.

Since my truck weighs less than 8k empty (CAT scales say 7,140) and I'm using it for personal and not business use, I get to use a regular passenger vehicle tag.
ouch...I tried picking up a nice 67 Fastback Mustang for $4k a few months back. The owner had let the registration lapse 25 yrs ago. When I called the DMV and asked, they told me I had to pay for those 25yrs worth of back registration.
needless to say I didn't buy the car. I think it would have been just shy of $12,000 to catch up the registration
That's incorrect.......a cars falls out of the system after what I believe is 7 years. I just registered my VW that sat for 20 years and never had a non op filed. I paid my 55 bucks and I was out of there with new plates and tags. My recommendation to anyone in California is if you have anything other than a simple DMV transaction just use a DMV service like AAA (if you're a member) or a local DMV service. The extra $25.00 is worth it.

and i thought our $190 every 2 years was high lol! we are doing away with emissions testing though so it will drop to less then $100 after that..cant wait ! since i have so many trucks registered.
My insurance used to be $300/month with AAA. (I am 19 and have an accident. Even though I think that it shouldnt be on my record. Thats another story though..)
But I recently switched companies and now pay only $130/month. Still more than most people I'm sure, but not bad for a 19 year old with an accident on his record. I also make a $168 (I usually round up to $175) truck payment every month. Yes. It hurts as much as it sounds.
You dont want to see my fuel bill.
Just saw on the news the other day Cal was spending 40 mil$ for alien college. Same broadcast, closing state parks for lack of $25mil. Are most politicians morons or corrupt?Nevermind, they are both

You are absolutely correct. The bill passed in both houses of the legislature. Now it's on its way to the governor's desk to be signed or vetoed.
I don't understand why spending tax dollars for an illegal alien's education so when he graduates, he can't get a job legally.
We should be screaming taxation without representation. Illegal aliens has representation without taxation. Illegal aliens can't vote anyways so why politicians stab their constituents in the backs...I don't know.

it is simply amazing what these elected idiots get away with when speaking on hour behalf. want to fix the budget...get rid of all these cushy things for illegals..we cannot help others until we help ourselves...geez
When I left Cali in 2005, the tags on my 2001 Cheby 1500 were almost due. Like a month away. Cali DMV had already sent me the bill for $300.00. When I registered it in Colorado it cost me about $250 for the smog, registration and new designer plates. When I bought my 03 F350 in June of 2010, It cost me $291 for the initial registration. My tags are due now. It will cost $186 this year. I talked to my Dad who still lives in Cali. He has a 2001 Cheby 2500 Duramax. he still pays $275 a year. Oh, and my insurance is about $100 a month for me, my wife and an 18 year old son.
I'm in New York, basically the Metro NYC area, and I pay $200/month for full coverage for my F250 and my Cougar.
The F250 is registered as a passenger vehicle (bought with the cap on it, so it's a "Suburban" not a "PICKUP"), and I pay something like near $200 for TWO years of registration.
yes they do....but at least we can jump on the parkways. the thing i dont get is i have the cap (had to sign a piece of paper stating its on the truck) but i am registered over the max. weight of 5500lbs. nobody picked up on it. what weight are you registered at. i believe mines right in the 5900lbs range.
