injected or not

I currently have a 76' F250 and will swap in a 460 next year. My neighbor stopped in and said he has a 78' F250 with a 460 in it and would like to sell. I use the truck for mudding only and am trying to decide whether to scoop the carbd 460 or hold on and go with a newer fuel injected motor. Anyone have insight of the pros and cons first hand.

fuel injection is nice no matter what its in. i bought a john deere lawn mower with fuel injection. always thought it was stupid til i got it. its soooo sweet. i love fuel injection.

Im thinking Ill wait to go fuel injected from a newer rig. If I get a whole truck I can probably end up with a dana 60 for the front as well. The 78` hes selling is in rough shape anyhow. I also have a feeling it may not be a 460 or a 78` for that matter. He wasnt to sure.Ive got to much tire to not have big block power now.

I have mud raced in the past and you get better aka quicker throttle response from the carb for mud but that is just my experience. Hope it helps.

Keep in mind, any truck that has an injected 460, won't have a D60 that'll bolt in.

A fuel injected 460 isnt a bolt in either. Custom fitting is how I view it. Cutting and moving perches and the likes isnt a big deal its half the fun.
