What DVD Player do you have? Sometimes there is an easier way to do it.

Try connecting the parking break wire to a ground wire.

PM sent with link. Not sure it'll work because it doesn't specify your model but had some close to it.

Take the parking brake wire from the radio and connect it to a ground wire. That should work.

From what I remember, on alot of the older units, you can get away with just grounding the parking brake wire that comes off the stereo but on the newer ones, they integrate other measures (i.e. it detects movement from the gps signal and disables the dvd) to avoid this hack.

I'm not familiar enough with that unit to say one way or the other though...

My unit works off of a +12V but only if the unit has been on for about 10 seconds, then gets the +12V so simply wiring it to a +12V wont work. They way around it is to get a relay, hook one end up to the units "remote power" and then the other end of the relay to the parking brake wire for the unit. The remote power gets +12V about 10 seconds after being turned on, and then will trigger the parking brake wire, and now the unit things youre in Park.
