A slightly larger turbo such as the powermax will help bring EGTs down a bit as well. Just another option.

I am just terrified when I see the EGT's so high. I just want to be more comfortable with it.

As already stated, 1300 degrees for brief bursts is no big deal. I can hit 1600 if I stay in it much past 70 mph. Now that's area I try to stay away from.

I pull my trailer through the desert and run at 1250* for hours at a time. 1250* is a number that guys have tossed around for a safe sustained temp for these motors as long as they've been around. Another 50* for a short time won't melt you down. When I've made passes at the track, I've buried my 1600* pyro and never had to go home on the hook. I don't even look at my pyro during a pass anymore, as it doesn't matter to me.

Drive it normally with the tune and you'll see temps that you're used to. Work your way into that pedal and enjoy.

Well you guys haven't steered me wrong yet so I guess I'll just go with it for now. So if my foot is to the floor and I hit 1350 for a few seconds I really have no worries??

Very good info William. You even made me feel more comfortable with the temps I sometimes see. I'd give you some reps but I need to spread the luv around before the system will let me hit you up again.

Of course there is a risk of stressing components when you crank it up, but as far as burning a hole in a piston or melting your turbine, no worries. Use the power wisely and it'll treat you right.

As far as my experience goes, I haven't broken anything with just a tune(X-Race). It's the nitrous that eats turbos and IC's. YMMV

You can buy a mount for the windshield but I have it on my floor in between the two bucket seats I hid the cable where the GEM module is I believe.

good post William I agree with you. I always say 1200 sustained, and for short periods (like 1/4 mile) I wouldnt worry about it much. Reps your way

Edit..... I must spread the love first. I will get you when I can.

I put a livewire on my 06 F250! Even on the lowest setting, that truck was loads of fun. I ended up trading the truck in about 3 weeks after installing the tune. Now I have a 6.4 in progress with some goodies! I do kinda miss my tuned 6.0 though!
