I just put on new 4" exhaust today went to start it and the battery was dead. I finally get the battery charged up enough to start and now the service engine soon light is on. I don't know if its from the thing having to really change the dead batterys or the new exhaust. What do u think?
check your map sensor connection.... make sure its snapped on real good first thing i would look at without using a scanner.....curious as to what all you tore down to put it on....like i said... need a scanner to be more specific and check all connections again....take it it runs well? also give us a year make model and tunes if ya gottem...
Ya it runs fine. I took it out on the e way seems good. It's an 01 excursion no tuner yet. Only thing I have changed is the intake and exhaust. Not really sure where the map sensor is.
assuming you unhooked that sensor its bolted on to the evaporator thingy as stated doublecheck connections charge battery.......and a scaner will be your best-est friend in the future.....
I think I found the map sensor and it looks like it is plugged in correctly. I was messing around the down tube on the turbo so not sure if there is anything else over there that I could have messed with. I looked pretty good last night and didn’t see anything obvious.
I’m going to scan it here at work today. I will post what I find.
Ok it was a 1690 code "waste gate control solenoid". He cleared it out and did a diagnostic on the truck and it went thru everything and it passed. So for now everything seems ok. I’ll drive it around and make sure it doesn’t come back. maybe I knocked it when I was putting the down tube on or something.
