I just recently bought my ford explorer, it's a 93 limited. Among otherthings my keyless remote quit working. Is there a way i can reset it, or do i need to buy another one?
yes, but thank you, i guess some people wouldn't have thought of that. i was told by the people i bought it from that i had to take it to a ford dealership for them to reset it. i wanted to save myself some money and do it myself.
I assumed from your first post that it worked, and stopped working... I found a web page of the key programming procedures... Its like , turn the key off and on a bunch of tuimes, leave it in run, and press a key on the remote...
I found the link for the key programming procedures...
"B. Turn ignition to RUN or ACC. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located in left rear quarter panel area. All doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode. Press any button on 1st transmitter. Door locks will lock then unlock to confirm programming. Press any button on 2nd transmitter (up to 4 transmitters total possible). The door locks will lock then unlock to confirm programming. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode."
I have not had to try it yet myself, I just ordered a new transmitter and will do it soon. I have not looked at the "programming connector in the left rear quarter panel" yet, so I cant help with jumping the pins... Maybe someone else can elucidate.
