Spool, sorry to hijack but what is different between the 03 headlights and previous models? I have an 03 but one of the markers is different, bought it that way...I too am considering HID's, and have a F6...
Looks like a great kit. They are only 35W. I thought you wanted 55W. If you can post pictures when done please do so.
Chet
I haven't purchased them yet in the process. And from the research I have done I can get alot better beam out of these halo lights with 35 watts then if I went with 55 watts in my standard lights. This is due to the pattern the standard lights throw with the hid unless you get a cover for them. Plus from what I've found out is that standard hid light kits will blind the s#]t out of other drivers. I could be wrong like everyone else I'm new to the hid world. Plus plug in a led for turn signals and bam I'm done... I like simple..
I think they look pretty BA. Gotta make sure that they are quality though and these are the guys to ask. I haven't had projectors but just make sure they have good reviews before you pull the trigger.

Well the 03's are the clear housings. My e99 ones were the diffusers which throw light equally but just not enough of it. Mine aren't OEM 03's because the OEM ones have the turn signal lights that are actually orange lenses. Mine are clear.
And no worries about jacking the thread John. I am waiting on the HID kit to come in the mail. Got it ordered! Cant wait.
55w
9007 hi/lo bulb
8000k
They say 7-10 business days to receive HID kits, which I hope then can beat seeing that they are in Cali and its only being shipped to WA. And mostly because I will be arriving in WA on saturday morning and would love to throw it in haha. Will post pics after the install.
Well. I got my kit. Everything looked great and was going fine until one of the bulbs didnt work!
I dont know if we accidentally touched the thing or what but I'm almost positive that we didnt. The moral to the story is that I now have one hid and 1 halogen running. I cut and bent up some 24 gauge sheet metal for mounting the ballasts but since one of the bulbs blew and we were running out of daylight, i just temporarily taped the ballasts in a safe spot. UUGGHHH!!!!!
So now I am going to call DDM tuning and see if they have 55w HID bulbs in their USA warehouse. If not I might be shafted because since this is a 55w kit, they have to keep it in their warehouse in china and have it ship from there.
Any Ideas?
I am on DDM's site and it looks like they do have replacement bulbs for sale but ground shipping is their only method.
Does anyone know anywhere that has quality 8000k HID bulbs that I can purchase and have sent quickly? Maybe even the exact brand of bulb that I have?!
best thing i can think to do is call who you bought them from, tell them the situation and they should send a replacment. dont worry i've driven around with one HID and one halogen before haha
I hope they will. But I want to have the replacement set pronto ASAP and just hope that they dont ship from china. They should just send me a replacement bulb or set for free. I'm going to call them first thing in the morning to get this figured out. Will post pics of the half breed in a sec.
FYI, after doing a tranny filter change + Partial fluid swap the other day I also did this. I am blacking out my truck so I think its a nice addition.
I used the same tinting spray that I used for my tail lights. It works great. The hardest part was taping off the ford writing. Soon to do this on my tailgate emblem too.
wow bryce, that emblem turned out excellent. Way to take the time and actually go above and beyond. Did you end up getting the tranny flushed without any other problems?
