Kickdown return spring needed?

Kickdown return spring needed?
I put that carb on my 460. It's a auto and my 1st auto trans in a old truck.
I have the kickdown connected as described, but do I need a return spring like on the throttle?

Not totally needed, but a nice safety feature. The lever in the trans is spring loaded, but may not always be strong enough to move all of the linkage back. The carb usually comes with one on it.

Yea saw it in the directions and then was wondering since the carb has a spring on it already.
But for $10 can't go wrong I suppose.
I need to clean the fuel filter, looks like I'm getting a stumble on intial acceleration. But need to clean my see through filter, picking up rust flakes from the tanks.
Thinking maybe I need a bigger pump shot. Almost dialed in though. For a out of the box caeb it seems to be a good fit for the 460 I put in the truck.
