steering issue

i have alot of play in my steering wheel.can go from about 10-2 with no wheel movement. i changed out my balljoints,tie rods and tie rod ends with moog about 10k miles ago.it got alot better from when i first bought it but now its loosening up a bit.do you think its the steering box because thats tightened all the way in already when i checked it.also im pushing 40s on a stock steering box so that'd be my assumption.any other ideas?

That would be my guess as well. I would get a Read Head gear box.

Have some turn your steering wheel while you watch from the front where you can see both. Have him stop and start several times turning real slow and watch the pitman arm real close. Then you'll know. Good luck.

How do ya tighten up the gear box?

guess im going to have to try buying a new one and hope it works.thanks guys. and trinibob there is an allen and i believe a 17mm nut on top of the gearbox but if you do it do MINOR turns and check.because you dont want to overtighten it and blow up the box
