cat ?

hello, what is the purpose of the rear cat on a 1991 f 150 302? will it affect anything if i remove it? my rear cat is rubbing on my t-case and i dont really want to buy a new one. thanks for any input.

You won't pass a visual inspection if it's gone. In most multiple cat installations, everything behind the first cat really doesn't do anything.

If you don't live in an emissions state, by all means.

Why is it rubbing? one those, the first one burns one type of gas, the second burns another. It will sound better with the second missing, and since you still have the first one, you will pass a cops inspection, but if you have to get sniffed it will show, and the operator will probably know there should be a second cat.
