Hey guys, for the past year I've been thinkin my transmission wasn't right, now that I've accrued another 40K miles, some symptoms are becoming very apparent.
1. Occaisionally when stopped in traffic i feel the truck bouncing up and down from the rear, almost like someone is jumping on the bumper... this does not happen all the time, but i'd say about 1 in every 10 stops... problem goes away if vehicle is placed in Neutral
2. Nasty higher speed vibration: I've been chasing a vibration for about 3 months now, with no success
3. Passengers have been asking 'is your truck struggling... it feels like it'
Are these signs perhaps of a failing torque converter more so than a failing trans? I've never had a torque converter go bad, so not sure what the signs are, how long its got, if there are any simple remedies, etc.
I've played with torque converters, and doesn't look like there is too much to em other than some bearings... what causes these things to fail/ act up?

Cant help too much, but I will answer what I can.
Torque Converters have clutches inside. They can wear down and fail eventually.
