It does have an electric fuel pump. It is not in the fuel tank. It is inside the drivers side frame rail, under the drivers door. It is the primary fuel filter housing, water separator, fuel pump and on early models fuel heater in one unit.

Remove the secondary fuel filter cap and filter element (under the hood) and get all the fuel out with rags or a bulb sucker or something. Turn the key on but be ready to turn it off quick. Might want some rags handy too. You'll find out pretty quick if your fuel pump is working.
