got my 67 tbird 390 together today and started disassembling the 360
i noticed the 390 harmonic balancer is thin like 3/8 or 7/16 with built in pulley groove. the 360 has a good 1" wide balancer with seperate pulley .
which do i use ? will the 360 work or will the balancer be wrong ?
i plan on dropping 390 in monday . hellllppppppp!
What are the other pulleys from your using? You might want to mockup the water pump pulley and alternator and see how they line up with the 67 balancer. If not good use the 360 balancer.
thanks pulleys lining up is my least consern , if thin balancer weights x and thick weights y (more than x) then internal engine balance will be off right ? guess i'll take them both off and weight them if they are the same i'll just use the 360 balancer then all the belt will line up....hopefully
I have had major oil pressure loss with Fram filters on a few of my cars. Motorcraft, WIX, NAPA gold (WIX), AC or Mobil One are the only filters I use. No more Fram. I have tried them on a few of my cars too over the years and saw the same results.....loss of oil pressure. Change the filter to another brand and problem solved. Some guys swear by them but I swear at them. Never again.
ORANGE CAN OF DEATH ? i assume the fram oil filter , whats wrong with them please enlighten me before do the first fire up .
Take that FRAM off, cut it open and take a look at the construction. What do you find? Cardboard. FRAM "Orange death" filters use cardboard internal baffles to keep the "dirty" oil separated from the "filtered" oil. The filter media is held to the cardboard baffles with something akin to hot glue. Don't believe me?
