I know this topic has been beat to death but when i did a search i couldnt find exactly what i was looking for,so. Right now on my factory 2006 f250 with the 6.0 i have Bfs rugged trail lt365/70/r17 tires. I need to get new tires before winter and i am going to go with the Bf Ats because i have had great luck with them and although the rugged trails have lasted along time(56000 with 3/8ths tread left) i have gotton stuck in the simplest spots like wet grass with a grade for example. So my question is, what is the largest size tire i can go with without having any rubbing issues? Thanks for your help guys...
Stock should be 265/70/17, I have had 285/70/17 and 315/70/17 BFG at's when my truck was stock, the 315's would rub slightly every once and awhile...didnt tear anything up
When they were new they would rub if I was turning into a driveway too fast. It was hitting the plastic fender liner at about the 3 oclock position on the outside of the tire...they would rub offroad a little if I was turning and hitting sharp bumps, only happened when I was going slow...like I said no damage and I had them on for 30k.
I can post a pic later when i'm on my pc.
I have the BFG at ko's at 285/75/16, and spun myself out of about 6" of wet snow in 2wd. I've been very impressed with the traction of them. Haven't tried the rugged trails though. You might check the ko's out if you wanna stick with the BF

I concur. If you are happy with the RT's, you will be ecstatic with the KO's.
They should call the RT's 'Rugged Street' because that's basically what it is.
Truck looks great motox !! The tires fit really well even before your lift, and after, wow !! The problem im finding now is the biggest e rated tire i can find by Bf is the 285/70/r17. I have to have the e rated because i have a slide in camper that i haul.
I'm curious to what is the largest tire/wheel combo I can put on my 03' 250SD FX4?
I was eyeing up 305/70-16 or should i stay with 285/75-16? Or can I go larger?
I would like to run the largest I can w/o really killing the power/fuel mpg. I don't drive this truck much at all, but when I do, I wish for it to look large and aggressive.
jonsk- dont worry about the e rating- just make sure if its D rated it load capacity is over 3k. Most D rated 35 inch tires have plenty of load capacity- same as a smaller e rated tire around 3,200lbs like the bfg a/t 315/70/17. that load capacity is greater than many e rated smaller tires. the bigger the tire the more air volume it can handle increasing load capacity without needing 10 ply sidewalls. 3200lbs is plenty for even a heavy slide in camper.
