Apparently the neighbors have issue with the fact that the dogs bark on occasion. We saw their kid out there fiddling with one of these in their backyard (right next to our fence). At first we thought it was a camera...but closer inspection showed that it was an anti-barking device.

The amusing thing is that it doesn't work (not with our dogs at least). The other amusing thing is that most of the time my retriever/husky mix is barking his head off...it's because of their sketchy hoodie wearing kid (hoodie pulled up in 80*+ weather). Their kid had been going back towards our property line (away from mom and dad's house) to smoke his reefer. Apparently they weren't aware of this fact..until today. As far as I'm concerned, my dog is doing his job by barking anytime their sketchy kid is near our place.

Next time the hoodie kid goes to smoke the reefer, call the cops. Which is worse, a barking dog doing his job, or a druggie next door?

 

Exactly. I thought I was being a good neighbor for not narking on their kid.

 

Teach the little barstard a lesson, being a good neighbor means taking out the trash when required.

 

Orrr.. You could be a good neighbor by reducing crime in the area

 

Yeah...he had his free pass. If he does it again, we'll handle it the other way.

 

They sell motion sensor water sprinkler controllers. You could set it up with the sensor facing the neigbors yard and the sprinkler set to cover your yard and to "accidentally" overspray onto their yard. lol.
