Oxford is definitely looks whiter - it has no metallic flake so it looks white all the time. Platinum with the metallic flake look anywhere from bright white (like Oxford) to an offwhite with almot golden tinge depending on ambient lighting levels and angle of refraction.
I originally was going to go Oxford until I looked closer at the Platinum under varying light conditions and with different angles of refraction - it reminded me of a pearl white paint with metallic flake I remember fondly way back on an old Kawi Z6 I owned 15 years ago. Those memories were too much - I went Platinum and it looks awesome and stays clean.
They All look cool parked in Sun........Oxford is whiter....The Tri-Coat is one sweet looking white though, it might hide dust a little better as well?
Thats right Truckless Tom, what should we talk about now?
A truck without many problems so we talk about color & seats, I love FTE, Gigs
Haha...yeah you have a good point.
I agree with Dim Sum though, platinum white is more of a metallic white as compared with a traditional white. My '08 was Oxford White, and it looked like every other white truck out there.
Steve's platinum truck does stand out, I'm not aware of any other manufacturer that has anything like it!
I know one's a 150 and the other is a Super Duty, but this was posted in the EcoBoost New Member thread and it's a good (and rare) side-by-side comparison of the two whites:
