Just had to comment, I printed out the Air Gap fix. I purchased a decent feeler gauge for about 10 bucks. I followed the easy instuctions. I removed a shim. My ac has never worked so good. Still cannot not believe it. Just to think how many people have been ripped off by some mechanic to do what took all of about 10 mins. This site rocks!
If your A/C seems to work better during the day than it does at night (and you haven't adjusted the air gap yet), you can probably bet you'll need batteries soon. That's what happened to me.
I was curious why it was more at night than during the day. Seems like it would be opposite. With all the lights on (on a dually, that's a lot of bulbs), the additional drain on the batteries meant that pulling that clutch in was less likely. A day or two after fixing my clutch gap, I came out to find my batteries dead (not related, just that the batteries were getting ready to take a dump and the clutch not reliably cycling was a signal they were on the way).
