Do 6.0 coolant cap's fail very often and how do you test one to see if it has failed? Found white chalk substance on driver's side of engine after towing and want to check simple (cheap repair) stuff first. Ha! Thanks in advance, Roy
Ford recommends installing a new cap if the old one ever relieves (PSV's are prone to weakening when they relieve a hot fluid).
Speaking of new caps.......I PM'd back and forth with a guy on the .ORG that had recently gotten a new degas bottle from Ford that came with a 20 psi cap although he didn't know what the part number was. I wish someone else could confirm this. Heard anything about it?

Have not heard anything about a 20 psi cap. I will ask around though!
My truck is a 2007 F-350 dually. Anyone know what is the difference in old versus new cap?
Just bought a 60 month/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty from dealership where I bought truck. Hopefully, if it's more than a cap will be covered. ha! Thanks for replies.

I really gotta start drinking my coffee before typing in the morning. It wasn't here it was on the .ORG, so fix your post and my quote--LOL. I'll see if I can get the guy to read the part # from the cap label and get it run also.
Thanks Tim - reps to you (when I can)! Seems like you would want the higher pressure cap in the hot weather instead of cold. I wonder if the cap would help reduce cavitation issues - directionally it should anyway.
