69 crew cab???

Well I have a guy that says he may want to trade me a 69 f250 crew cab for an other truck that I have. Its an ex forest service truck, 300 6, 4 speed 4wd with a short bed step side. Are there any specific areas I should look at on the truck? Are body panels available for it? No I dont have pics or I would post them to let you guys see it. What kind of gears where offered?

Thanks,
Chris

You will want to check the front cab mounts. The bottom rear of the front fenders. Rear bottom of the doors. The area where the hood hinges mount. Floor especially where it gets near the rocker panel. You will need to post the number tag info from the driversdoor to determine what the factory put in as gears.

Question is what other truck are you trading, and how attached to that truck are you.

Check over the things mentioned above also check the radiator support inner fenders rear cab corners all the body panels are available except the rear doors what kind of truck are you thinking of trading for it? Some pics of the crew cab would be great always like looking at them I have a 71 crew cab also a thing to know is the crew cabs with a stepside bed are even more rare then the regular bed crews

Thanks guys the truck(s) I am getting rid of are a 74 IH 200 one ton dually 4x4. And an 75 IH 200 3/4 ton. He said this crew cab plus cash for em. I havent even seen the crew yet, I was just getting ideas on where to pay close attetion too. I know from these two trucks getting parts for is a pain, I just didnt want to end up in the same situation.
Thanks,
Chris

Everything is readily available except the grill and the rear doors. Grab it, but be prepared for the cool reactions you get everywhere you go. Dennis Carpenter, National Parts Depot (NPD) and LMC have almost everything you need including cab corners, tailgate, door skins, etc. GRAB IT!! and post pictures!

Don't know where you can get a new one but used ones in very good to excellent condition are readily available. Paid $100 for the 1967 F250 longbox flareside that was the donor for my front sheetmetal and I made my trailer out of the box and frame and then sold the cab w/ doors for ...$100.

In my 20 years of owning crewcabs, I've only ever seen one other flareside and that was a 68 Mercury I saw posted a couple of weeks ago. Buy it buy it buy it!

An update...I talked to the guy..He has had it about 8 or so years and he starts it up and drives it around the farm once a year!!!! And when he got it the front cab mounts were starting to go and there was a few "small holes" in the floor board. So im sure in the 8+ years this has gotten worse. But the big kicker is.....he bought it with out a title, so he has another 69 f250 4x4 he put the vin plate and used the title off of that for this truck... Im still thinking on taking a gander at it. But I dont know what to think now...
