Transmission Fault

My 2007 F150 XLT, 5.4L, 4X4: 3 times in the past 4 months while towing a small trailer a message comes on in the dash display "trans fault" and the OD OFF flashes on the dash. Has anyone had this situation to happen and if so, what is the fix?

Need to get it scanned to see what code is stored, this will be the first step in diagnosing the problem.

bad torque converter

The problem was a bad torque converter, replaced under warranty
