Need some help guys...I am a long time Cummins guy, and recently bought my wife a 2003 Excursion with the 6.0PSD. Long story short, the person I bought it from was not the first owner and did not know exactly what everything was!
I need help identifying this module and what it does. It is definitely aftermarket and is about 1.5"x2.5" black plastic. It's only marking is a normal sticker that has since weathered and is unreadable. It has several wires coming from it that go to various places. One is a yellow wire that goes in to the cab and is on a switch to ground (the switch looks generic and may not have been included originally). Another is tapped into, I believe, green with black tracer (see attached pic). It has several others that I did not write down but can if need be.
Truck also has bully dog power hound, MBRP 4", K&N filter, gauges, and some other non performance stuff.
SO WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DOES IT DO?
I posted this in Pit Chat because I know most members here are versed in more than one truck/engine brand, and I figured that there is the possibility that it could be something that is not brand specific. Mods feel free to move this to 6.0 tech if need be.
I know I probably did not provide enough information, so ask away...
I haven't seen that, but I'm guessing that the wires are going towards the MAP sensor. The pictures come out really small for me so I can't be intelligent about it. Here's a bump for ya.
Thanks, I will write down all wire colors when I get a chance, and where they go from what I know, I am totally new to PSD's...it is frustrating having something in the vehicle that I am unsure about.
We'll do everything we can to help. Take some time to read through the 6.0 tech folder at the beginning of this forum The 03's have some different things than the later model motors and Ex's are almost "EX"clusive to themselves at times.
BTW---Welcome to FTE's 6.0 forum. Great bunch of guys here with a LOT of knowledge and experience with 6.0's and some great tech's who pop in when they have a moment to spare.
