That seems like a catchier name for this game show than "name that vibration".
My 2000 Ex has developed a vibration that appears to be mechanical. At about 35 MPH there is a noticeable vibration through the body (not the steering). By 45 MPH it's gone and the Ex is smooth to about 70 MPH. Then the vibration returns and is very strong over 75.
A quick inspection of the visible parts doesn't show anything obviously amiss.
I'm hoping that someone can give me a pecking order before I start randomly changing parts.
I am having the same problem now there is no vibration until 55mph then upto 65mph there is a strong vibration and no vibration at 70 mph. The truck is at the garage now and they have checked the drive shaft and u- jointsand every thing seems ok. They are not sure what it could be.
I'd go from the outside in...Check tire balance, alignment, ball joints, u-joints, driveshaft. I actually just did that exact process when I decided to swap tires...found bad ball joints, replaced them, got an alignment with new tires, still a vibration...u joints swapped out and drive shaft balanced...she's smooth as butter now. Let us know if that fixes it.
I can't remember but can you grease the slip joint in the rear drive shaft? If so maybe it's dry and has excessive play. When ours was dry in our old '97 4Runner it played hell on the rest of the truck.
