I've got a '69 F-100. When I get up to about 50 mph, I'll get a vibration but it's not constant. vib vib vib smoother vib vib vib smoother I'm running after market rims with the proper lugs, I've checked the bearings and made sure they were not loose. The tires are new and I've had them rebalanced twice. Any ideas?
check your u--joints on the drive shaft. that is more than likely the culprit. vibration can only come from a rotating mass wheelhop.do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel or just in the vehicle itself?

Reason: add on
I had a belt separate and cause a vibration. It was right at 65 mph. Chased it around for a while until I aired the tire down and saw the big flat spot on the side of tread. Replaced tire and NO more vibration.
This has been going on for several month but recently gotten worse. It's fine until I get to 50 mph. It's not in the steering wheel so I'm guessing it may be the shocks. The shocks are a little more than a year old. I've also noticed that my cab mount needs to be replaced.
I would imagine shocks should last longer than one year. However, one of them could have had a failure of some sort. If the shocks are only a year old, then it seems to me your problem probably lies elsewhere.
I replaced the front cab mount on the truck last week. When I took her out for a test drive, there was no shaking. I used to be able to tell when I was going 50 mph because of the shaking, before I knew it yesterday, I was going 60 mph with no shaking.
