Getting codes every cyl says "inj circuit low" but FICM Is putting out 48v and cyl 5 "contribution / balance fault" guessing this is my culprit. Question can i change the size of the graph in the power balance test and is there a contributon view im missing. First time using AE very cool thanks
Another question for you AE'rs. I am in AE and when I go up to the top and click "help" and then "feature activation" it does show that my Ford Bundle is activated but what is actually extra? I cant tell. Where did you go to do your tire size? How are you acuating the EGR and the VGT? When I go into the "test onboard systems" I dont seee it under there hmmm.?
The FICM can still be bad even though the voltage is OK. If you're getting injector circuit low codes for every cylinder the FICM is toast and needs repaired. I would NOT replace the injector until I had a properly working FICM.
Having the Ford bundle activated allows you to read all the Ford specific features for every model Ford. My 04 has something like 400+ parameters that can be read. Some newer models have a LOT more.
Let me review the AE again real quick and I'll run through how you get to the tires and activation stuff.
Its weird cleared all codes before starting and now she still runs rough but getting no trouble codes. All the low circuit voltage codes are gone and no cyl 5 contribution failure but she is running rough. The power balance is kinda of hard to read as the graph is small. Headed to work now though so I am out of time. Going to pick up the 1 injector as it said last night cyl 5 was not contributing. Thanks for the help and parts man , I wont have the computer with me but if its something you think I can just write down feel free to give me a call I PMd my number. I got yours but didnt want to call if you thought it wasnt going to help if I wasnt sitting in front of the truck and computer. Can wait till later if need be. Thanks again for all your help I will have me e-mail at work.
You have to have so many drive cycles with a problem before it will set a code. So now, that you have cleared it, it will take a little driving to come back. If your driving it to work today I bet you will have the codes when you get back. As far as changing the tire size, you have to select abs as the system you are looking at (instead of enhanced power train), then go to test. Select change tire size in the drop down, and follow directions. For actuations (where you can disable injectors and stuff for testing) right click anywhere on the screen (I think might have to be on the menu bar) and select to view actuations menu.
Very informative thank you. When you say "select the system you are looking at" I just see the main window where the list of "computers" like trans, airbags, enhanced powertrain all that stuff where the codes are in the begining with the little drop downs on each one and then I use the tabs at the top. Are you saying that if I click and highlight ABS and then go to the top for test there will be different test there? I am really interested in trying that out. I did not drive the truck today as I didnt want to upset it any more then I need to as I have a spare little short cab 2003 v6 2wd f-150 to use. This way the truck will be cold when I go to work on it tonight. I figured it would take a drive and maybe some load on the engine to throw the code. But atleast I saw it and I will have a new injector at lunch so as long as the weather holds up I will be putting it in tonight as long as I can get ahold of a t40 long shannk for the injector hold down. I used a short one last time and it worked but this one is #5 not as easy of a spot as #2 and 4 of last time. So I would prefer to have it before I start but we will see. I dont think that sears carries it. I ordered one with my Snapon man here at work but he wont have it till Thrusday so that sucks. Oh well I will try and see what I can find. Thanks again
