Yes, no, and no. You would have to input the x-gauge values for the second vehicle unless it's same make and very similar model but it will work on any OBDII vehicle. It doesn't have much diagnostic ability though, just returns codes. No initiated tests are available. There is a misfire count by cylinder but I haven't read of anyone getting them to work.
Maybe it's time for SGIII?

I'm not aware of any code reader/diagnostic tool that you can't use on more than one truck. They're not VIN specific...again, none that I'm aware of. I think your confusing tuners into this, now they're only good for one truck at a time.

I have a 05 and 06 6.0! A buddy of mine has a 06 that is giving him problems. I figured I could use this to see if any deep codes come up and I was hoping to tell if some of the injectors are and which one may be bad. I may have wasted my money, I ordered one Monday.

I bought a Actron AutoScanner Plus model CP9580 over last weekend. It's taken me a few days to fugure out even some of it's functions. I'm finally getting it to tell me things and being able to download therm to my PC.. It does have an Injector Missfire Function but they all read the same thing at the present time so I don't think I'm useing it right.

I was kind of worried it would work on only one vehicle "ever" like some progarmmers being it looks like some. One and done in other words. I've bought the thing for my trucks! That being said the Actron AutoScanner will not connect to my 05. The Auto on function is working because I have used it on my buddy's 06 and it work on it. Reading the troubleshooting it states to check all the fuses so I suspect one my be blown on my 05.

When you get it, you will need to enter the following Xgauge so you can see if there are pending codes, codes that do not set the CEL. One member here is trying to get it to read those codes. The manual says it will show the codes.

DTC Count (Diagnostic Trouble Code Count)

TXD: 07E0220200

RXF: 046205020600

RXD: 3008

MTH: 000100010000

NAM: DTC

For me, if this gauge shows a count, then the SGII should read it. If not, you might see about sending it back for a refund.

Sounds like you need to forward those shots to Linear Logic. Well, that answers the question of whether or not to send mine in for an update.

Thanks for taking the time.

I sent an email to Linear Logic. I will update later when they respond.
Thanks.
