300 inline 6 no spark!!

300 inline 6 no spark!!
I have a 1994 F-250 XL with the 300 inline and when I put the key in the ignition and turn it just to the on position, I get an error beeping, Not like a key-in chime but an error.
I used a spark checker, and it doesnt seem like Im getting spark between the coil and the dist.
Anyone got some tips to help me figure out the issue here? I really want to save my truck, but im really poor. So shops aren't an option.

Error sound hey, I hope I never hear that...you know, the Haynes manual is very good in the spark department, step by step stuff. You would need a multimeter and a test light though. There's a good chance the local library has a manual to lend, if you don't what to buy one, better than throwing parts at her..

Well if you have the multimeter and the test light, that will help a lot. I would start by looking for any stored codes...for example I recently had a code 14 during a no spark situation. It was a bad distributor, but that code sent me right to it...so check for any codes you may have
