Unfixable problem, need help!

Vehicle: 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer
5.4l, 4x4
130,000 miles

It all started over a year ago. I believe the original codes were p0171, p0172, p2195, p2196. Replaced bank one sensor one O2 sensor and codes were still present. Ran fine, didn't effect fuel mileage so I just ignored it, bad idea. about 2 or 3 months ago it stared running bad, really bad. Would not accelerate or even rev up, misfired like crazy. I think it was cylinders 1,2 and 3 all had misfire codes. Tried all kinds of things to figure it out. Nothing worked so I took it to my mechanic.
Turned out the cats on bank 1 were pretty much melted together inside (plugged up) and needed replaced. He also fixed every vacuum leak he could find.
Bank 1 sensor 1 still threw codes so he replaced the sensor, again. Scan tool show no activity at all for the sensor like there is a broken wire or something but everything looks fine, cannot find a broken wire anywhere. He scanned it again and said the values shown are zeros and sometime it drops into the negative.
Just scanned it to see what the codes are now and I am getting p2195, p2196 and p2198. Now it appears whatever it is is affecting bank 2(p2198). I checked the resistance on my fuel injectors and I got a range of 13.4 to 14 ohms on all 8 injectors. Is this the proper range?
I don't know what to do. I have been all over the internet, my mechanic is stumped and I just feel like beating my head off the wall!!! Please help if you can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know this is my first post and I'm asking a huge question but I've been searching all over this site and everybody seems very helpful!
Thanks in advance,
Bobby

I know your's is an 03 but TSB #05-13-4 for the 05 might point you in the right direction for the solution.

I was thinking injectors, that's why I metered them but I don't know what ohm range I should have had. All of mine were between 13.4 and 14.0. How can I do a flow test on my injectors like the TSB mentioned to see if I have some stuck open? Is there another way to check?
Thank you!

13-14 ohms is good. The injectors have to come off and be brought to a shop that has a flow test machine. It's not a DIY at home test. If no one around you does it, there are many places online that you can ship the injectors to. Depending on the shipping method, turn around time can be roughly a week.

Ok, so i called a Ford dealer today and talked with a Service Tech to get some more info about fuel injectors. I told him my whole problem and where I was at now with it and he suggested changing the fuel filter. He explained to me why I should change it and how it could be the problem. So I changed it. Unplugged the battery to reset everything, took it for a drive and the light came back on. My cousin has my code reader so I just have to assume for now its at least one of the codes i had before. Will know more later.
As far as the injectors he told me he has never had injector problems with an Expedition. He said injectors usually either work or they dont, ford has never required him to ohm out injectors. So Im still stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update!!! Update!!!
Not much of an update but it excites me! P2198 is now gone! Now it is just P2195 and P2196.
Little more info, all 8 plugs are new Motorcraft plugs, both upstream sensors are new and there are no exhaust leaks. Everything I read points towards injectors, Im just scared to drop that much money on 8 injectors if I don't need to.
Thanks!

Thanks!

Before dropping that much money on injector, Get a multi-meter and test the ohms of the injectors.

You should have anywhere between 12.4-14.2 ohms on the injectors. If you have a reading in between, then your injectors are good.
Also, Good ideal is to make sure each injector is actually getting power to them.
Way to check that, is get a test light and test each plug. If you know how to do that, good.. If not, then post back, and I'm sure one of us would be glad to explain how.

If everything checks out well, Next step would to take the injectors to some one who can do a flow test on them.

More than likely if the readings are good, Then you have a flow problem.

Have you checked, or changed the fuel filter? (Sorry if you posted that above, Been reading and posting in so many threads that I can't keep track. Lol)

Have you tried running seafoam through the gas tank, I usually do a full can for every fill up.

Do everyone a favor, including yourself, and reread to keep track before you post. He's already checked the injector resistance, changed the fuel filter and it's been recommended to have the injectors flow tested.

Making progress! Im down to just code P2195 only! I changed the EGR valve. I was talking to my buddy who is a mechanic, not a ford specific mechanic but just a smart dude, and told him what was going on. I mentioned the EGR valve as something to check and he said it would for sure throw those codes if the diaphram was bad, so I changed it. I figured it may have gotten damaged when the cats were plugged and the exhaust was looking for somewhere to go.

Not sure but on my '04 V-10, I had a similar problem, on driver's side under hood on top of fender there is a purge vapor recovery canister, that solenoid valve on mine kept blowing completely out of the canister it was completely clogged, $100 part through Ford only, but it did take care of the problem, I took the old one apart and it has a real fine mesh screen in it. It wouldn't throw a code for that part. Good Luck.
