A/C Recharge

My a/c is in need of a recharge from what I saw in Bismic spread sheet was R-134a with out A/C system sealer

what I didnt see was at what pressure the system needs to be charged to

and I didnt watch all the vids but at what port does it need to be filled at
IIRC I saw one with a Black cap not shure thats the one I want though
and
IIRC R-134a needs to be added on the low pressure side of the A/C pump

Thanks for you help
Benny

Not pressure, pounds is what you charge your ac to.when you go to hook up your hoses they'll only go one way.put it on a vacuum for 30min and do a leak check.also add some dye.it'll let you know if and where you have a leak.

Benny--don't go by the capacity tag on the belt routing under the hood as the system capacity has been raised to somewhere between 42 and 46oz of freon IIRC. IMHO the best thing you can do is find a shop with a recovery machine, have them recover the system completely, and replace to the correct capacity. IF they do it correctly you'll have to pay for very little additional freon and they can add back any oil they recover. If they do find a leak then you can repair it and come back later to have YOUR freon recharged.

Not knowing what you'r doing on an a/c system is a good way to get hurt or freeze up an expensive compressor. Sometimes it's worth taking it to a pro or taking some jr. college courses in it as I did.

no shop should just be putting in freon. its starting at $10k fine to do so. freon is an o-zone depleting gas and must be in a sealed system.
correct charge is 2.82lbs
also pressures change with outside temp, elevation and humidity.

If it isn't leaking where did it go? Did it magically disappear?

I had a 93 Buick Regal on R12 that I sold in 2006. System was never open or recharged and would blow 40* air on a 100* Austin, Texas day.

Buy the Leak Check bottle IF you decide to recharge it.
