No the pedestal is not threaded the turbo exhaust housing is.
You're correct. I was thinking the turbo went in front of the pedastal, but I knew they weren't BOTH threaded. Just another one of those old age brain farts again. That's what I get for not going out and looking again like I usually do. Guess I've had it out so many times I just don't even look anymore. What about the back one? Is it the turbo or pedastal that's threaded?

I guess it's the turbo housing that's threaded for all three bolts. But if you absolutely can't get it out and have to cut the bolt head off then once you get the turbo out and on your bench you can easily drill it and hit it with an easy-out and you may be lucky enough to have enough bolt hanging out to simply grasp with with some vise-grips and work it out that way.
Try to make this and long pry bar it works the 16mm socket didnt work

they have a bolt remover at sears you could try the size for the bolt head due to bolt head design it usually will bottom out so thise size not the best
BUT IF THAT DONT WORK they have a deep one that you go over te bolt and SLEAVE
I Cant remember but you need like a 16-17-18mm DEEP one to go OVER THE SLEAVE BOLT ALL
and my truck will NEVER have that back bolt in again anti seize the new bolts
what he said, pipe wrench! maybe a smaller one though. Don't know what year yours is but the pipe wench works on the the 03 turbo back bolt (a real bug boo) anyway the key to the pipe wrench is don't worry about the bolt head, if you can turn the thick washer/spacer the bolt will be loose too, hopefully.
Same miserable thing happened on mine. Tried all sorts of wrenches and stripped bolt removers and heat. Ended up torching the bolt off while using a mirror. Not a great way to do it, was worried is was gonna burn the truck down 🤪. Anyway got the turbo out and finished the job.
when you put the thing back together, use some "nickel" neverseize. this is a high temp version as regular never seize is not that effective at high temps. if you cant find it, just order from amazon or ebay. also get a 6 point 10mm box end wrench or combo. These are not that easy to find, napa should be able to get one for you. good to have later on. Since you have a 6.0, you now have a hobby truck and an excuse to buy lots of tools.
oop's, you have the wrench, well buy something else!
