I replaced mine pretty easily. Put your new gasket on the window and then run a long peice of cord in the seal all the way around the window and leave the ends long. the cord helps pull the lip of the seal over the pinch weld in the window.

If you want to change windows for whatever reason, the rear windows are the same from 73-96. I have a 95 in my 76. The rope trick works great, I had to have someone outside pushing on the window while I was inside pulling the rope. Slow and steady is the key, too fast and u might have to start over a few times like I did.

As above, a little bit of soapy water on the rope helps too, 1/8 " nylon rope works well.

soapy water, 1/8" nylon. Agree.

I run the rope starting bottom middle aound the window and meet back bottom middle.

seat the window on the bottom seal with the two rope ends layin inside the cab.

Have the helper hold the window from inside the bed. As the helper applies light preasure to the window, start pulling the rope and seat each corner of the window. SLOW AND STEADY!!!!

Pull each side, working back and forth getting the same amoung of seal pulled inside the cab. Keep working the rope unitl you completely seat the window.

Youll be an expert in no time.

The hardest part is putting the "lock strip" back in. They make a tool to make it easier, but I've always been too cheap to buy one LOL.......................

Thats what that is?? Mighta been easier on mine if I removed it. I removed and installed the window with that strip in. If I'm thinking of the same strip.
