Wiring short somewhere?
Also over the last couple days some new problems have started to appear. With the headlights ON, the passenger side turn signal flashes fast as if there is a bulb burnt out even though they are all working. With the headlights ON the windshield washer fluid pump runs. Soon as you turn the headlights on, the passenger side turn signal indicator on the dash lights up. Also even with the headlights off, when you honk the horn the turn signal indicator on the dash lights up. With the key in the off position and the doors closed, if you turn the headlights on, the radio turns on and it stays on until you turn the headlights back off and open the door.
I have checked the headlight wiring for any cuts in the insulation where it could be shorting out but have yet to find anything. Any ideas or other things to look for or check? Thanks in advance
These trucks are notorius for allowing water in from around the windshield. It then drools down the inside of the firewall to the backside of the fuse box under the drivers dash.
Have him pull the fuse box under the dash and the GEM module behind it. It there is moisture....have a glass company remove, clean and reseal the windshield.
If there is moisture and drying doesn't fix it then the GEM module could need to be replaced.
