Just rolled out of the Outer Banks at 4AM this morning, sure hope it don't get banged up, such a beautiful place! My neighbor has a house on the beach in Nags Head....may be heading back down with him on Sunday to patch her up if needed....The almighty 7.3 (as usual...) brezzed 8 hours flawlessly to get us home
We were informed earlier today that all of our buildings are on standby as a place of refuge (I work for a school district near allentown pa) on Sunday. I'll be spending the day tomorrow making sure any loose stuff at home and work is inside or tied down.
All the chain saws are gassed up and ready to go. Flashlights and spot lights are charged and have new batteries. Only thing we don't have is a generator, so hopefully the power stays on since I only have an 800w and 400w inverter in the truck.
Trevor you are only about 30 - 45 mind away from where I'm building my truck...
Also we are having a gtg the Oct 8 weekend in bloomsburg, shouldn't be far from you
Hope everybody is okay so far, the tactical rescue team I am part of is on standby until we know how bad it is. Hopefully we don't have to go, which means it didn't hit that hard. Everybody please be safe.
My nextdoor neighbor saved this image of Irene from the NOAA satellite feed while it was near Puerto Rico. Sure looks like a skull there in the center.
We are getting rain up here & the wind is just starting to get to us, tonight & tomorrow will be the worst for Delaware but I'm hoping it will fall apart today.
Power's been out in our area since 530 and no idea when it'll be back. Hopefully not too long since we don't have a generator on hand, only two small inverters and one half dead UPS unit that I'm using to get internet access for the moment.
Out of power myself. It'd getting a little old seeing as everybody in my neighborhood has power but about 4 of us.
That might make you a low priority if it's just the switch at the transformer that has tripped. Might want to run an extension cord to the neighbors house to keep your fridge running.
