axle bolt patterns

hey guess'. got another question bout the 1960 ford 4x4 im looking at. it doesnt have a 5x5.5 bolt pattern like a 1/2 ton I'm used to dealing with. were the half ton's a different bolt pattern for 4x4? I do know it's got the inline 6. It looks like the big inline 6. the 262. just seems bigger than that 223 i had a few yrs ago i had in a 64 f100.
also, I'm already already planning on puling the 292/4spd out of my 64 2wd and dropping in this truck if i get it. will that stub shaft between the trans and transfer case be the same. and yes, it has the 4spd on the floor.

Here's a website with information on how to measure the wheel bolt pattern.

In a '60, someone could have dropped in a 300-6.

262: 1961/64.
The bolt circle pattern is the same for 2WD/4WD, but F100 is different than F250. There is no specific 4WD wheel. The same wheels were used with 2WD & 4WD.

1955/66 F100's came with 15" wheels. 16 and 17 inch wheels were optional.

5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle pattern: 1948/52 F1 / 1953/79 F100 / some 1980/83 F100's // 1975/96 F150 // 1966/96 Bronco // 1969/74 E200 / 1975/2011 E100/150.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1953/66 F250's came with 16" wheels. 17.5 and 19.5 inch wheels were optional.

8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle pattern: 1948/52 F2 / 1953/97 F250 // 1967/97 F350 // 1969/74 E300 / 1975/2011 E250/350.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1960: Ford changed the design of the 223 cylinder head. The valve cover is retained to the head with 8 bolts (1954/59 223's use two studs/nuts to retain the cover).

The same head design was used on the 262, introduced in 1961.

223/262: The intake/exhaust manifolds are on the left (drivers) side / 240/300: The intake/exhaust manifolds are on the right (passenger) side.

240/300 introduced in 1965.
