wheel bolt pattern

I need clarification of the stock wheel bolt pattern on my 1950 F1 with 15 inch wheels. I read conlicting ways to measure. I think it is a 5 on 5 bolt pattern

5 on 5

YES this is correct 5 on 5 is the ford truck pattern. Cars are 4.5 on 5. I use the 4.5 on 5 because the MII IFS. It comes in 5 on 5 but cost more. I had to redrill the rear to match. NOT A BIG DEAL.

Hold on a second. The Ford truck wheel bolt pattern is 5 on 5 1/2", not 5 on 5. The measurement is the diameter of the center of the bolt circle. Up until 1949, cars used the same 5 1/2" bolt circle as the trucks (except for 1936-39). In '49 Ford changed cars to the 5 on 4 1/2" pattern but left the trucks with the larger pattern.

thanks, I am looking for 5 spoke aftermarket wheels. 5 on 5.5 really limits my choices. I may just do the disc conversion and go to 5 on 4.5 and redrill the rear axle or use a wheel adapter

I've got 5 on 5 1/2 wheels for my truck. I learned this past week that only one company in the whole country makes a 5 on 5 1/2 kit for a MII front end. And they apparently know it because they charge about 500 dollars more than usual for it. HELLO wheel adaptors.

Engineered Components makes a brake kit with the 5 x 5.5 pattern for $575. If you know your part numbers, you can buy GM calipurs and Dodge rotors & buy only the hubs and the calipur mount from them. I don't know the part numbers well enough to go that route. Here's their website. I have talked to them a couple of times and they are pretty helpful.

ECI Disc Brake Conversion Kits - Mustang II & Pinto

Either way there are plenty of wheels out there with a 5 x 5.5 pattern, but you do have to pay attention to the clearance from the wheel to the brake rotor if you have disk brakes up front. Jeeps had the same pattern for years which caused me to look at a couple of 4x4 websites. I've been looking at Black Rock wheels as a possibility for my project.
